Today, Comfort-Aire is a leading producer of heating, cooling, and dehumidification products, owned by MARS, a leading supplier of HVACR components and motors.

Given that Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems is owned by Carrier Global Corporation, it's no surprise that Bryant places in our rating with Carrier. Both are made in the same factory with the same parts.

So the answer to this question is: although the term “air conditioning” describes two different types of cooling, it has long since become synonymous with comfort cooling in everyday speech. In that regard, comfort cooling is indeed the same as air conditioning.

Comfortmaker Air Conditioners was born as a brand of the American Furnace Company. Following a number of sales the owner of the brand is now International Comfort Products (ICP) which itself is an operating company the United Technologies Corporation, who also owns Carrier.
